Ramblings
I don't know why, I haven't been into this lately, but it's probably because I've been too busy. Excuses excuses...I know. Here's the short hairs
MIL visit for a month. She leaves and her husband and DH's Godfather drive out here. They brought us our other 2 quads, and in return will bring their 25' trailer back with them. Godfather had never been west of Indiana, so this was a HUGE experience for him. He has been a farmer in PA for his life of 70+ years, his wife just passed last year, and this was an opportunity he finally realized he couldn't pass up. Good times.
Dinner with Cynthia and Rob after their wedding 6-7-8. What a hoot that was. She's my real estate agent, turned another sister and Rob and Bill get along great. Now that she's married, she's realizing that her business isn't her life, and I have heard from her sooo much, and I LOVE IT!
Dinner's with brother and family have also been often, life is good as they have left for Arch Cape, "our family house" for their usual 2+week stint for the fourth. Oh what a splendid place that is! Right on the ocean, and not a damn thing to do but hang out, drink and go to the wineries and to Tilamook :) DH and I will leave on Tues come back Friday before work. Can't wait. I am trying to not be too disappointed when they call DH for overtime. That will suck, but I will still go. They called him both days off this last week. Luckily we weren't home to recieve it. Which brings me to survival of white water rafting. I am 34 years old, and had never been. What a fuckinn hooot that was! Seriously, that should happen more often. Groups of people, and sunshine, floatin down the Wenatchee River. It was glorious. From hearing me talk before hand, you would have thought I would've taken out an additional life policy for fear of not coming back, but it went as well as could be expected. FUN FUN, highly reccomended. Awesome weather here today too. FINALLY. IT's been a good week. Work is the same, family, same, how does life get so busy? Hope this finds everyone well. Sorry it's been so long!

wow
I am sooo behind on this it's crazy.
With that said, I will only hit the hilights and move on.
The work BBQ...very successful. I couldn't believe that a couple of the controllers actually showed. It wasn't for very long, but at least they did. We had a great time visiting, stuffing our gullets and having many a libation. Good times.
I did make it home to Indiana too. I ended up non-reving, and ended up on earlier flights than I had planned. It was lovely. My flight landed in Chitown about 945p and I was at my parents house (with a couple stops enroute) by 1am their time.
I wasn't too sure / convinced that I wanted to stay at my parents house. I did manage to make it thru the 4 days without killing my father. I do like pretty girls and all, but Bertha in jail, makin me her bitch isn't exactly what I have in mind. The triplets turned 3 and we had a couple of parties for them. Their personalities are getting as big as they are. They are gorgeous children. I did get to have some alone time with my nephew Bradlee too. He is 4. He likes to play trucks, play DR, and watch videos. He is quite the little lover boy, and very very happy. My brother is doing a great job raising him. God knows he hasn't had it very simple. But, with all that, it DOES take a village these days, and all four of these kids, that rings true.
I got to see the Old Republic house in New Carlisle. They redid this house and it is stunning! nice job. I got to see some parents that were a very big part of my life growing up. It was a good visit. Grandma came to lunch with us. She has been in and out of the ER alot these days, and I am not sure what to make of it. I can't figure if she is starting with dimentia, or if she's being lazy, or if she is just done fighting. But, she'd better let us know where she stands....cuz if she ain't done fighting, she better get on the ball with taking her meds. This situation is sooooo frustrating for me, because I am a doer...and noone back there is. It's almost like they just expect things and information to fall in their lap. UGH. No patience coming from this broad. We all went out on wednesday. Met at our local mexican watering hole. I got to see some of my friends that I have not see for 15+ years. Jenny came with Sharkboy, and although it was shortlived (he fell asleep), it was soooo good to see her. Kenny and Andy came too. Oh my GOD. I cannot even explain to you all the history with these two clowns, but it absolutely made my trip to see them. Andy and I had a stint of being interested with each other, but the timing was always off. We still have a great connection, and I just love him. He's a great father and friend. He is a very special guy. Kenny is as well. That guy can make me laugh like no other. He's so genuine. I wish I could have met his wife. She sounds pretty terrific too. Then, Jessica and I headed out to meet up with our usual clubbing crew and went to fever and main st pub. Late night, early to rise so I could drive to ORD for my flight. I ended up getting home 5 hours earlier than planned, so that was nice. Back to work, and life. DH got his blood sugar and pressure figured out. He seems to be doing well, and not quite as cranky. He is just soooo awesome. Mom leaves on Friday, and then the wedding festivities start over the weekend. THAT is gonna be a party. Can't wait. I never thought I'd see the day for Cynthia, but here it is!
Hope this finds all of you well!

Well, then, it's been quite a bit. I don't know how people do it with children. Could you please explain? I don't have but 5 damn minutes to myself, running here and there, and getting chores done...then you throw in another house 1:15 away. UGH. DH's mom got here on mothers day. So, I boycotted the Mineral house and stayed home for some much needed R&R and chores to get done. Our "cash cow" as DH likes to call, was in need of severe attention. It got about 4 hours outta me. MIL will be here thru the first week of June.
Last Saturday we went galovanting thru our neighborhood, during our annual garage sale. This place is rediculous...we all trade each other shit and pay for it. This year was no different. There wasn't as much to pick from, but we managed to find a new patio set...still in the box for $70. That was our big purchase for the Mineral house. We then went to dinner at the melting pot in Tacoma for a late mother's day. There was 9 of us that went. It was wonderful...the boys whined the whole time how it's overpriced, and they have to cook their own food....note to self, it's now a girlie restaurant. I don't want to hear it...we love it and WE will be back withOUT them!
DH should be back to work next week, pending the outcome of his blood work. He says he's feeling ok.
Having a "work" BBQ at my house on Thursday. People from the tower, here and maybe even a couple from DH's work. We'll see how that goes...hopefully no fights LOL. The FAA tower on the left I work with everyday...and my tower...on the right. I'll keep you posted on the outcome. I'm sure it will be a good time. I'll expect nothing less.
Still trying to come home at the end of May. Tickets are too expensive to buy, and I will try the non=revving thing, and hope for the best. I might just have to buy a one way ticket back.
or there are other options.....LMAO

whew
What a whirlwind week.
We spent our days off in Mineral working some more. DH got all the knobs put on the cabinets in the kitchen, the last of the counter tops installed, added the backsplash and wine rack and caulked the sink. We kidnapped my brother and he was a good supervisor. He wasn't able to do too much labor due to having his knee surgery the weekend before. It was just nice having him there. We picked up the sand packer thingy (yes, that's the techie term ;) ) to level and pack the sand, then we laid 1x1 pavers as the garage floor. You ask, why go thru all of the labor, rather than pouring concrete? Well, about $4K was saved by doing it our way. Same result, just hard work for us. It turned out wonderfully, with the help of our friends Josh and Mike. I made lunch for 7 men in my new kitchen, and I was very proud. The other guys were the ones that built our garage, they've moved onto making our deck. They are just good ol' boys, like from back home. The type you immediately have a good time with and trust the hard work will get done in a timely fashion. They rock. DH stayed down there for the weekend while I came home to go to work. He is off for 2 weeks+/- due to him starting his new diabetes medication. He has been staving off the inevitable for about 4 years now, and he can't do it with just his diet anymore. At least he's not having to do the shots of insulin. (at least not yet). He says today he is already feeling better. Softball will be Tuesday, then out for drinks with our friends and then, I'm sure, back to Mineral for our weekend. I think I will be heading back to Indiana May 26 thru the 29th...I will give more detail, when it's known...but you have my numbers too. I will call when I have definant itinerary. I really hate staying with my parents any more. My dad and I just don't get along, and it's stressful on my mom....so we'll see where I land. UGH.. Back to work..new bean is actually doing pretty good. It must be his trainer ;)

the short of it
Softball happened on Tues, I thought I pulled a muscle, but I didn't, we won
Mikey came over and we went down to the Mineral house and recieved pavers and concrete to finish our new garage, went to taco night, came home and watched a movie, went to bed
Thursday, came home. DH went to dr and was finally diagnosed as a diabetic. We have been staving this off for about 3 years with his diet....but no more. He will start meds monday and be disqualified from work because of it, which in turn, turns him into my bitch for said chores and honey do list's that will prevail for the next two weeks on his leisure.
Marcus, Anna and new girlfriend came over for dinner. Jesus...great time had by all. We stayed up with Marcus until 4am digging thru old yearbooks, comparing and telling stories. Laughed our asses off and finally passed out.
Friday, back to work...and training. Bean is doing good, much better than the last(obviously, since SHE didn't make it). All is well on our end...back to work

Did I mention it's FUCKING SNOWING? This pleases me to no end. NOT. SICK SICK SICK OF WA Weather.
Anywho...another action packed days off scheduled for this week.
Tues, dinner with Brother and Andrea, softball double that probably won't end until 11pm. DH goes to Mineral after dinner...I go to softball
Wed drive down to Mineral--go over the plans for porch add on and see our new garage. Have shit delivered from Lowes. Pavers and misc other junk needed to finish garage. Electrician is supposed to come down to finish his work. Finishing the garage will then equal moving all the crap out of the house, ie...fencing and big items into new garage. Probably won't happen for a couple of weeks tho.
Thursday, DH to the DR and Kirby to come over to go over financial investment stuff. Then Marcus is coming over! I am waaaaaay excited to see him. It's been 16+ years. Going to BBQ and drink heavily!!
Today is MIL 60th birthday. Called her and she is enjoying her day. FIL planned a suprise party for her later that really isn't a suprise. I think SIL spilled the beans because she knows MOM hates suprises. Had a nice chat with her.
Went to see Sara's new house. It is beautiful. The back yard is fantastic and maybe me and her children will talk them into putting in a pool in the future or not...but it's nice to fantasize.....
